Miami Beach... Here We Come!
Every year after a few tough weeks of brutal January winter weather in New York City, we pack up and travel south to the shores of Miami Beach. It's the home of the Original Miami Beach Antique Show. The show is one of the largest antique shows in the country, including lots of jewelry! 2019 marks a return to its original venue the Miami Beach Convention Center after being offsite for 2 years while the Convention Center was being renovated.
For years the show was a mecca for dealers and collectors of all sorts of items - ceramics, blown glass, silver, paintings, posters, handbags - you name it! This year promises to be much of the same. It's an interesting show to attend because of the size and various items to see. However, if you are there only for jewelry, you won't be disappointed. Dealers from all over the world set up, and shop the show.
Getting together in Miami is also a great place for us dealers to see old friends, dine together and even go to the beach! I have been going to the show for nearly 20 years (wow). While hotels have changed, my booth has changed, and even the Convention Center has changed, many of the faces have not and it's always good to go back.
Besides looking for new jewels, and selling a few old friends, I am looking forward to a few things. One is dinner at Joe's Stone Crab. It is a Miami Beach must do and I always look forward to those juicy jumbo claws. Two is walking on the boardwalk in the morning in the sun - a great start to my day. Three is lunch delivered from La Sandwicherie. It's one of the few places that deliver to the Convention Center, and while I was totally tired of it, it's been two years.
We will be in booth 535 this year, and we are working hard at the moment to pack up all our goodies for a bang up display of antique jewels. Please stop by and say hello, and if you need a ticket please reach out. Hope to see you there!
