Queen Victorian was deeply in love with her Prince Albert, and throughout her long reign as Queen, she made jewelry with colors and meaning very popular. All of these pieces are examples of pieces made during that time period. Starting with the lovely blue Robin's egg enamel pendant set with diamonds, it has a crystal back that can hold a photo or a ribbon (or hair!). The two turquoise items - the ring and cross are both exquisite examples of the craftsmanship of the period, and the contrast of the colors are gorgeous. (The ring is $3300 and the cross is $4800) Lastly, the gemset pansy ring - what could be sweeter? Pansy's are a reminder for the wearer to "think of" the giver (referring to the French verb Pensee which means "to think).
Again, two Victorian era bracelets in wonderful shades of blue. The larger darker blue is made in guilloche enamel meant to look like a ribbon tied around the wrist. The other a nod to royalty, an M with a crown over it, set in diamonds. Both are in exquisite condition and infuses meaning and sentiment into a very special gift.
Dangling earrings are very chic at the moment, and why not mix it up with antique ones that also have history? The black earrings are made of Jet, which is actually fossilized wood that is carved. It was used for lots of jewelry in the Victorian period when Victoria went into mourning for the passing of her beloved Albert. These earrings shape and style are very modern and look great when worn. At $1900 it is also a great price point. The carved coral earrings are pure whimsy - depicting Cupid riding a dolphin in a reference to the mythological origins of Cupid. This cherubic beauty is intricately carved from angel skins coral and absolutely one of a kind!
Lastly, gold is still bold and gold bracelets are a staple item in a woman's wardrobe. The top bracelet is a newly listed Cartier gold curblink bracelet. It dates to about the 1960s, and one can literally live in it. The charm bracelet is from the 1940s and is a wonderful collection of moveable 14k charms that are each a prize in itself. Charm bracelets are a wonderful give because they can be added to, and each charm has its own meaning. We have several charm bracelets at Keyamour ready to go!
