London Called, We Answered
London is one of our favorite cities to visit, and also happens to be a great place for some fun jewelry shopping. Here's a recap of our jam packed 4 day trip to London for sightseeing, eating and discovering treasures.
We decided to take a Friday night flight landing in London just in time for a quick trip to Portobello Road. We had never flown out of Newark to Heathrow, but the United service was quite nice and the lounge rivals the Virgin Atlantic Lounge at JFK. By the time we got to Portobello Road, it was already very crowded with tourists. However, we managed to see a few friends and pick up a few goodies.
Sunday was a tourist day for us, walking from our hotel in South Kensington all the way to Picadilly to cue up for some ramen at Kanada-Ya. Our walk took us past the Victoria and Albert Museum, Harrods, Harvey Nichols, Hyde Park, Green Park and Burlington Arcade. We visited one of my favorite stores, Liberty where the Christmas decorations were already up.
We also came across these porcelain plates that are Keyamour appropriate.
Sunday night was pub night with friends capped off with some delicious pizza.
Monday was work, work, work, visiting dealers all around Bond Street and Mayfair. Monday also was November 5, which is Guy Fawkes Day. Its commemorates the day Guy Fawkes tried to blow up Parliament. Of course, it's a perfect excuse for Londoners to set off fireworks and light bonfires. We happened to be invited to an annual party where I swear the bonfire grows each year.
Tuesday we finished up our business and by 3:30 were on the Heathrow Express from Paddington to the airport. The 6 pm flight gets you back in New York by 9 pm. It is actually an ideal flight since you get on the flight to eat, and catch a movie and then are back in NY to have a full nights rest. Stay tuned to the website and Instagram as we upload all our newest purchases! Teaser below!
