A new blog is scary. It's a blank canvas that needs to be painted, but all I want to do is stare at its perfect whiteness. The urge is to create a masterpiece that will be praised and shared. In reality, I am just to scared to start something that won't be instantly perfect. So, instead it's easier not to start.
This isn't my first effort at a blog, so perhaps this is part of my mental phobia. I wanted to start a cooking and kitchen blog. In fact I did create one, and posted several times to it. However, the tediousness of photographing step by step cooking techniques and writing down recipes was something that I didn't have the patience to do. I just wanted to cook the food, take a few finished photos and enjoy eating. That doesn't translate to avid readers (all my imaginary blog fans). My blog is still out there in space where peoples passing whims lie in anonymity.
Here we are... a jewelry blog. While cooking, and dining are my passion, jewelry actually pays the bills. I've never really documented what I do, or how I do it. I love what I work with everyday and love to buy it and sell it. I've dealt with antique jewelry since 2000 and I learn a new lesson all the time. There must be plenty to talk about!
Let's make a deal. I'll take some photos and share thoughts and ideas. We won't have strict rules about what this blog is about, and we'll remember to have fun. This will make it easier for me to be free, and things will flow. Maybe we'll talk about jewelry makers, or maybe we'll talk about travel. Whatever it is, it will be a journey. Thank you for joining me!
